Stay Tuned!
Whatever affection, devotion, or honor we bestow on God is only a response to what He initiated. Nothing within our relationship originates in us. We are incapable of independent creation, only co-creation, in-and-through our union with the Creator Himself.

HE FOUND US (1) in our darkness. We were in darkness until He brought us the Light of His countenance.

HE OVERPOWERED US (2) at our most willful that we may respond with that same passion in our quest to know Him as fully as we are ALREADY KNOWN (3) by Him.

He FREED US (4) in our bondage that we, securely in a place of unconditional, unapologetic freedom, could pursue a course of radical liberation from all of the societal traditions and corresponding expectations (5)

HE LOVED US (6) before we even had the vaguest understanding of what love was. And from that place of pure, all-encompassing, endlessly supplied love, we are made anew, empowered to reflect that love outwardly to all that was, is, or ever will be. (7)

We can only pursue Him because He first apprehended us. What He finished (8) makes all that follows as a byproduct of our participation in the divine nature (9) possible.

—————————————————————

(1)
2 Corinthians 4:6 (NASB95):
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

(2)
Philippians 3:12 (NKJV):
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

καταλαμβάνω - to lay hold, grab onto, pull from harm; to overpower.

(3)
1 Corinthians 13:12 (NASB95):
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

(4)
Galatians 5:1 (NASB95):
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Luke 4:18 (NASB95):
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed.”

(5)
Colossians 2:20 (NRSV):
If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the universe, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations.

(6)
1 John 4:18–19 (NRSV):
18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. 19 We love because he first loved us.

(7)
John 15:12 (NRSV):
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

(8)
John 19:30 (NASB95):
Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

(9)
2 Peter 1:3–8 (NRSV):
3 His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature. 5 For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. 8 For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lack, scarcity, and fear are counter to everything we already possess in and through Christ. He is THE Supply; and He’s inexhaustible! 🙌

The Holy Spirit is our teacher before anything or anyone else. Is there ‘wisdom found in a multitude of counselors’ as Proverbs states? Sure. So long as that counsel is not taken IN PLACE OF what the Spirit is saying.

If one delegates (or transfers altogether) their birthright of hearing God to their pastor, prophet, teacher, guru, therapist, or other voice-of-choice long enough, eventually one will mistake the voices of men for that of God. That puts us right back under the law and its dependence on intermediaries approaching Father on our behalf. Worse yet, it inadvertently elevates the creation over the Creator.
We are found IN Him and He IN us! For it is in-and-through Him that we live, and move, and have our very being/essence. The wondrous truth revealed is this: we face nothing alone! 🙌

H/T Brad Jersak.

Colossians 1:26–27 (NASB95)
26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

John 14:19-20 (Mirror)
19 In yet a little while the world will no longer see me, but I will be tangibly visible to you in the very life we share together. 20 In the unfolding of this day, you will know that we are in seamless union with one another. I am in my Father, you are in me and I am in you.
