Irenaeus’ words place the Christian life where it belongs: not in striving for God from a distance, but in sharing communion with Him. The beauty of the gospel is that life is not self-made; it is received as we are drawn into the love of the Triune God.

The Father is the source and fountain of all life, eternally giving Himself in love. The Son is the eternal Word made flesh, who reveals the Father and brings reconciliation through His life, death, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit is the living gift of God’s own life, revealing Christ to the heart and uniting us to Him in living fellowship.

To behold God, then, is not passive observation but relational participation—life awakened in the presence of the One who gives Himself.

Let us reflect on this truth today: as Christ is revealed, true life is awakened—humanity restored not through effort or striving, but through grace alone, brought into communion with the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” - 2 Corinthians 3:18 (RSV)

The scandal of grace is that the Father gives what cannot be deserved, the Son accomplishes what we could never achieve, and the Spirit freely shares what we could never produce on our own.

Grace confronts every hidden instinct to measure worth, rank holiness, or secure righteousness through performance. That’s why Jesus offended religious pride so deeply. He welcomed sinners, forgave freely, and called salvation a gift before it was ever a reward.

The Trinity is not inviting us into a transaction, but into communion, and the more we see Christ crucified and risen for us, the more our clenched hands slowly open. Not to earn love from God, but to finally rest in the love already given through the Son, by the Spirit, from the Father.

One of the most freeing truths we can ever begin to see is that God has never willed to be God without us.

From all eternity, God is not solitude but communion — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — a life of perfect, self-giving love. And from the beginning, this Triune life has been marked not by distance from humanity, but by a desire to share communion with us.

That means we were never created as an afterthought, never placed at a distance to be managed or merely judged. We were created for participation — for life in communion with God.

And when we look at Jesus, we are not seeing a different posture from the Father; we are seeing the eternal heart of God made visible. In Christ, God does not remain distant from our condition but enters it fully, heals it from within, and brings us into the fellowship He shares eternally with the Father in the Holy Spirit.

So the good news of the gospel is not the story of humanity trying to reach God, but of God in Christ drawing humanity into Himself.

This is the deep truth of our being: we are created to live from communion, not from isolation — to live from love received, not from approval earned.

And perhaps the slow work of grace is simply this: learning to rest in the life of the Triune God who has always desired to include us in His own life.

The good news of the gospel is it begins and ends with the risen Christ.

The Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit, raised Jesus from the dead, and in His resurrection creation itself is given a new future. What was overcome in Christ was not only death, but despair, separation, and the belief that the grave has the final word.

Resurrection is at the very heart of the Triune life revealed to us in Jesus Christ. The Son enters fully into our humanity, carries death into Himself, and rises again so that humanity might share in His life.

“But if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.” — Romans 8:11 (RSV)

The hope of the Christian life is not escape from the world, but the promise that in the risen Christ all things are being made new.

The Christian confession begins not with human ascent toward God, but with God’s own self-revelation and saving action toward humanity. The gospel is, first and foremost, what God has done in Jesus Christ.

From the Father, through the Son, and in the Spirit, God makes Himself known not as distant or waiting for human completion, but as the One who graciously gives Himself. The Father is the eternal source of life and communion, who sends the Son—not as an abstract message, but as the living Word made flesh.

The good news of the gospel is that in Jesus Christ, the Son is not merely the bearer of grace; He is grace embodied. Fully God and fully human, He assumes our humanity, heals it from within, and reconciles us to the Father in His life, death, resurrection, and ascension. For this reason, salvation is not presented as a potentiality awaiting human activation, but as a reality accomplished in Him.

It is the Holy Spirit who unites us to Christ and brings us to share in the Son’s communion with the Father. What is accomplished in Christ is made present and effective in us by the Spirit—purely by grace, not by works.

Therefore, the gospel is proclamation before it is invitation, because it announces a finished work before it calls for a response. Our “yes” is always and only a response to God’s prior “Yes” in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).

This gospel of grace means that, in Christ, the Church does not strive to enter communion with God, but receives and lives from the communion already given—with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

When we come to know God as Love, Life, and Light, Scripture begins to open up in a way that is not merely informational, but transformative. The Triune God is not distant from His Word—He is the One who speaks, shines, and gives life through it. In Christ, we are drawn into that divine life where truth bears fruit and hearts are made whole.

As the apostle John writes:
“God is light and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5, RSV)

To walk in that Light is to be shaped by Love Himself and brought into the Life that overflows in Christ. And in that overflow, Scripture does not simply inform us—it forms us, producing abundant life and good fruit.

And the deepest fruit of reading Scripture is this: that by the Spirit, in Christ, we are brought home to the Father—not just informed by truth, but transformed by Love Himself.

Awareness of Identity

This course invites students into a transformative exploration of their true identity as revealed in Jesus Christ, grounded in the theological framework of Trinitarian Inclusion. Rather than striving to become something they are not, participants will discover that who they truly are has already been embraced, redeemed, and included in the life of the Triune God through Christ…and that nothing we ‘do’ or ‘don’t do’ can change that!

Taught by theologians C. Baxter Kruger, Wm. Paul Young, and Steve McVey, the course unpacks the revelation that humanity’s inclusion in Christ is not an afterthought or contingent on belief, but the eternal intention of the Father, accomplished in the Son, and revealed by the Spirit. Through lectures, readings, and practical reflection, students will uncover how false identities—shaped by shame, separation-thinking, and religious striving—are healed in the light of union with Christ.

Marked by Love

Marked by Love is a transformational journey into the heart of divine reality—where Love is not merely one of God’s attributes, but the very essence of God’s being. Taught by author, retired physician, and experienced coach, Dr. Catherine Toon, students are guided into a deeper awareness that “God is Love” is not a poetic abstraction or spiritual slogan, but the defining revelation of who God is and who we are in Him.

Through theological exploration, Scripture engagement, and practical application, students will discover how the triune God’s relational nature shapes all of creation and redemption. Far from exclusion, divine Love draws all humanity into the eternal fellowship shared by Father, Son, and Spirit. Participants will be invited to examine how being “marked by love” reshapes identity, reorients purpose, and redefines how we see God, ourselves, and others.

With grace-filled insight and pastoral wisdom, Dr. Toon equips students to live from their inclusion in Christ—no longer striving for acceptance, but resting in belovedness. Whether you’re a ministry leader, a spiritual seeker, or someone longing to experience God afresh, this course offers a liberating vision of divine love that heals, restores, and transforms.

Zoay Leadership Development

Leadership within the Church and in broader ministry settings demands far more than strategy, charisma, or theological knowledge—it requires wholeness. Zoay Leadership Development is a course that emphasizes the vital importance of emotional healing and maturity in those called to lead others. Rooted in the theology of unconditional grace, this course explores how unresolved wounds, unacknowledged shame, and undeveloped emotional intelligence can hinder a leader’s capacity to shepherd well—and how grace, not performance, is the starting point for authentic influence.

Students will be guided by Dr. Cory Rice through a pastoral and theological journey that prioritizes personal healing before public responsibility. Drawing from Scripture, psychology, and the grace-centered teachings of Christ, the course will invite students to confront areas of brokenness not with judgment, but with compassion and the radical acceptance of God’s unconditional love. Only by first receiving and embodying this love can leaders create safe, redemptive spaces for others.

This course is ideal for those in ministry, counseling, or leadership roles who desire to lead from a place of integrity, inner wholeness, and Spirit-empowered grace. Participants will leave equipped not only with insight, but with renewed hearts, restored identities, and a leadership model that flows from healed humanity, not hidden pain.

Trauma

This five-part seminar is presented by clinical psychologist and guest lecturer, Dr. Diane Langberg.  Dr. Langberg has been a leading voice in spiritual abuse and religious trauma for over four decades.  A prolific author and speaker, she has given voice to many who hold deep affection for the Church while also acknowledging that major reform is needed.

Students may encounter occasional elements of western evangelicalism in Dr. Langberg’s lectures that are not necessarily in keeping with the views expressed by Global Grace Seminary.  However, these are few and in no way diminish from the concepts she presents on this critically important subject matter.  When evaluating situations from the dichotomy of either ‘part of the problem’ or ‘part of the solution’, not only is Dr. Langberg a part of the solution, she was talking about that solution earlier and louder than practically anyone else.

Ethics

Ethical conduct is not a peripheral concern—it is the very foundation of trustworthy, transformative coaching. This seminar, led by Dr. Tom Barnette, explores the indispensable role of ethics in the life and practice of coaches, counselors, and ministers. With a focus on real-world application and reflective engagement, students will examine core ethical principles, professional standards, and the moral responsibilities inherent to helping professions.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the conviction that ethical behavior is not merely about rule-following but is the hallmark of sound, quality coaching and ministry. Students will be challenged to cultivate ethical self-awareness, foster accountability in practice, and embody trustworthiness in every client or congregational interaction.

Whether students plan to coach, counsel, or minister, this seminar will provide the ethical framework essential for sustainable, compassionate, and integrity-filled service.

Coaching Fundamentals

Taught by pastor and professor Dale HillCoaching Fundamentals introduces students to the essential principles of coaching through a Christ-centered lens rooted in the hope-filled vision of inclusion. This course explores how coaching can serve as a sacred space for transformation, growth, and healing, not by coercion or condemnation, but by affirming the inherent worth, belovedness, and potential of every individual.

Drawing from biblical wisdom, the life and teachings of Jesus, and the inclusive heart of God’s redemptive plan for all creation, students will engage theological and practical frameworks that support authentic, grace-centered coaching relationships. Emphasis is placed on listening with compassion, asking powerful questions, and aligning coaching goals with a deep trust in the divine image already present within each person.

Coaching Obstacles

Taught by Professor Christo NelCoaching Obstacles equips students to identify and meaningfully address the common internal and external hindrances that can undermine the effectiveness of the coaching relationship. Drawing from the theological perspective of grace and the unconditionally loving nature of God, this course explores how fear, shame, unresolved wounds, power dynamics, and unmet expectations can subtly interfere with authentic transformation—for both the coach and the client.

Students will be guided to develop grace-based strategies for navigating these challenges with wisdom, empathy, and integrity. Emphasizing that a good coach is first a healthy coach, Professor Nel invites students into a journey of personal reflection, spiritual grounding, and practical growth. Through case studies, experiential exercises, and theological reflection, learners will cultivate the self-awareness and resilience needed to coach others from a place of wholeness.

Empowering the Client

In this vitally important course, Dr. Robin Smit—author, publisher, and professor—awakens students into a coaching paradigm grounded in the liberating truth that “God is love.” Rather than coaching clients to strive harder, push further, or depend on sheer willpower, this course equips students with strategies to guide clients into a Spirit-led way of living and achieving goals. Drawing from the theological conviction that divine love is not only the heart of the Gospel but also the source of true empowerment, students will learn how to coach others toward breakthrough that flows from trust in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Coaching Within the Context of Pastoral Care

Taught by pastor and leadership coach, Antoine Lee, this course equips pastors with practical coaching strategies to integrate into their pastoral ministry, enabling them to walk with individuals as they journey from the objective reality of the finished work of Christ toward the personal appropriation of that truth in their lived experience. Rooted in the theology of It is Finished—the declaration that all humanity has been reconciled in Christ—this course emphasizes how coaching can serve as a compassionate, Spirit-led means of shepherding others into awareness, healing, and transformation.

Students will explore how to coach parishioners who intellectually affirm theological truths (e.g., forgiveness, union with Christ, identity in God’s love) but still struggle to experience those realities emotionally, relationally, or behaviorally. Participants will gain tools to foster clarity, unlock inner obstacles, and co-discern with individuals the Spirit’s movement in their stories—guiding them not toward striving, but toward restful awakening.

New Creation Life Coaching: Theology and Praxis

This transformative course explores the essential relationship between theology and coaching, guiding students to develop a coaching practice rooted in the unshakable foundation of grace and relational theology. Taught by pastor and professor Jordan Orick, the course contends that effective Christian coaching is not merely about skills or strategies—it flows from a deep understanding of God’s nature as revealed in Christ: gracious, relational, and restorative.

Students will examine how their view of God directly impacts their view of others and themselves, shaping the tone and trajectory of every coaching conversation. Through a blend of theological reflection, coaching models, and real-world praxis, students will learn to embody a coaching presence that is marked by compassion, curiosity, and the unwavering belief in the divine image within each client.

Key themes include the integration of Trinitarian theology with coaching methodologies, the role of divine grace in transformation, and how to coach others without coercion, performance pressure, or shame. By the end of the course, students will not only gain practical coaching tools but also a renewed theological vision that equips them to walk alongside others with wisdom, humility, and love.
